The breasts can vary greatly in terms of shape, size and consistency,
all of which constitute characteristics that may
undergo considerable changes in the course of a lifetime.
Beautiful and naturally looking breasts!
Hormonal influences, the individual structural quality of the tissue, pregnancy and breastfeeding, gravity and personal lifestyle, natural ageing processes, etc. play a decisive role in this respect. Small or sagging breasts make many women feel unfeminine and incomplete, reducing their sexual self-esteem.
My new look:
Beautifully and naturally shaped breasts.
Every woman has their own idea of what makes breasts natural in appearance and desirable in terms of size and shape. They should harmoniously fit the overall body, look natural and also feel natural. Breast augmentation performed at our practice in Munich is aimed at achieving this goal.
If you have any further questions or would like to learn more about a specific procedure, feel free to email us or arrange for us to call you back or make an appointment for a comprehensive personal consultation at our plastic surgery practice.
How is breast augmentation performed?
In a breast augmentation, a breast implant shaped and sized according to the desired result is inserted under the mammary gland or breast muscle. Access is made via a small incision at the lower fold of the breast, in the armpit or around the nipple.

Frequently asked questions about breast augmentation
When is the implant placed on top of and when under the breast muscle?
In very slender women who have little subcutaneous fat tissue, the insert is preferably placed under the breast muscle so that it is sufficiently covered and its outline is not visible through the skin. Other important criteria in making this decision include the nature of the existing breast tissue as well as the shape and type of the implant.
What is the right breast size?
With a few exceptions, most women would like to have well-proportioned and natural-looking breasts that are in harmony with their overall body. In some cases, however, expectations are unrealistic or unreasonable, such as when an excessively large implant would produce an aesthetically displeasing result.
The size of a breast implant should therefore be selected based on the existing physical characteristics, such as the elasticity of the skin and the breast size before surgery.
Nevertheless, vaginal tightening in combination with pelvic floor tightening is especially successful in improving sexual stimulation.
What implant material should I choose?
There is a wide range of breast implants whose properties and all their pros and cons cannot be individually described here. They basically differ in their shape, firmness, filling material and surface texture.
There are round or oval shapes as well as different heights and projections that are suitable for a breast augmentation. The firmness and consistency varies depending on the filling material and the manufacturer. The surface can have a smooth or roughened texture.
Silicone has received a lot of negative media attention in connection with breast implants. Several years ago, relatively liquid silicone gel was used as the filling material, which could leak out if the implant ruptured, causing bodily reactions in some cases. The silicone used today is cohesive and can no longer leak out, comparable to the consistency of a gummy bear.
Besides silicone, the only other filling material approved in Germany is saline. In more than 98% of all cases, we used implants filled with silicone gel, because they feel the most natural. Saline implants lose their volume over time.
How long does the procedure take and how much does it cost?
The surgery takes between 1.5 and 2 hours, Depending on the type and quality of the implant, the fees for breast augmentation range between EUR 5,600 and EUR 6,600 incl. anaesthesia and inpatient stay.
We will be happy to find the optimum financing option for you together with our partner MEDIPAY.
Will the implant need to be replaced?
Manufacturers of the new generation of implants state that an implant usually need not be replaced. However, if any negative changes occur, such as deforming or hardening, implant replacement needs to be discussed. Usually, implants can remain inside the body for many years or even for a lifetime. It is not necessary to repeat a breast augmentation at any specific intervals.
What risks are associated with the procedure?
After a breast augmentation using breast implants, swelling and minor bruising are to be expected. A hardening of the capsule of connective tissue surrounding the breast implant (capsular contracture) or mostly temporary sensory disturbances in the breast or nipple may occur. The ability to breastfeed may also be limited. Breast implants do not increase the risk of breast cancer!
What type of anaesthesia is used?
We perform breast augmentations exclusively under general anaesthesia or twilight sedation.
Will I need to stay at the hospital?
After general anaesthesia, you should stay at the hospital until you have mostly recovered. The time needed to recover varies greatly from patient to patient. Some leave the hospital after only one day, while others take a bit longer.
But you should plan on staying at least one night for monitoring. Outpatient care is also possible.
- Avoid medications that increase the tendency to bleed (e.g. medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid, such as aspirin or ASS) 15 days prior to the surgery.
- Stop smoking 2 weeks prior to the surgery! Smoking contributes to circulatory disorders and poor wound healing!
- If the surgery is performed on an outpatient basis, arrange for someone to pick you up at the hospital or practice after the surgery and to stay with you at home.
- Get a cooling mask or cold packs for use after the surgery.
- Lie and sleep on your back with your chest in slightly elevated position.
- Avoid any physical effort and excessive arm movements.
- Take at least 1 week before returning to work.
- Avoid any sporting activities, sauna and strenuous activities for 8 weeks after the surgery.
- You should wear a tight bra for 6 weeks after the surgery. We will discuss with you how to choose the right bra. You can also buy from us a special bra (with an integrated “Stuttgart belt”).
